Online Tech has established a scholarship program to give students interested in technology the opportunity to pursue their post-secondary education from an accredited university, community college or vocational technical school. The scholarship program is designed to ease the financial hardships associated with pursuing a degree and to reward students who have an interest in cloud computing, data security, disaster recovery, colocation and a variety of other topics.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:
Online Tech’s Data Security Scholarship program provides two $1,000 awards. The scholarship will be awarded for the Fall Semester 2012 and is not renewable for future semesters. There are two scholarships offered for fall 2012.
Health IT Scholarship
This scholarship is for students who are studying health informatics or other technology topics related to health care. To apply for this scholarship, use a video, infographic, or essay to answer the question: "What do you see as the best technology for improving healthcare?". See eligibility criteria and submission guidelines below.
Data Security Scholarship
This scholarship is for students who are studying data security and compliance topics. To apply for this scholarship, use a video, infographic, or essay to answer the question: "What do you see as the most serious mobile security threat facing consumers and/or companies and why?". See eligibility criteria and submission guidelines below.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Applicants must be a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of application
- Scheduled to graduate from high school and/or continuing college in the upcoming school year
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Accepted without condition to an accredited university, college, community college or vocational technical school
- Must become a full time student at an accredited university, college, community college or vocational technical school in the 2012-2013 academic year.
- Must be entering a field related to IT, Computer Sciences and or Healthcare IT
- Only those applicants who meet all the above eligibility requirements will be considered for scholarship awards
HOW TO APPLY:

- School they plan/are currently attending
- Answer to one of the questions below
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:
All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of Online Tech and based on the response to one of the following questions:
1. Healthcare: “What do you see as the best technology for improving healthcare and health IT?"
2. Mobile Security: “What do you see as the most serious mobile security threat facing consumers and/or companies and why?”
Responses will be evaluated based on a clear definition of the problem, potential solutions, expression and organization of thought. Submissions may be in the form of:
- A short video: No more than 10 minutes long*
- An infographic complete with short explanation
- An essay: No more than 1,000 words

Selected submissions (video, infographic and essay) will be posted to the scholarship page on our website.
If selected, you will be asked to submit proof of enrollment at an accredited university, community college or vocational technical school.
PRIVACY POLICY:
For the purposes of this scholarship, Online Tech collects names, emails, birth dates and addresses of those submitting entries for scholarship consideration. The information provided by students is used for internal purposes only and will not be resold or distributed to third parties. First names will be published on the scholarship page of our website along with the student’s submission (i.e. their infographic, link to video on YouTube, or a portion of their essay.
