Hosting Journalist: Cloud Hosting and Colocation Provider, Online Tech, To Open New Detroit Data Center

The 34,000 square foot data center in Westland, Michigan, will officially open its doors on August 1.

Online Tech has invested $10 million in renovating and building this metro Detroit data center.

The company has renovated and built out a mission critical network switching facility formerly occupied by Sprint-Nextel. The 34,000 square foot Metro Detroit Data Center features 18,000 square feet of raised floor space. The carrier-neutral facility features fiber connectivity to eight different telecommunications providers, and supports 1.2 MW of IT load.

The company has invested $10 million in renovating and building this metro Detroit data center. The expansion adds another 15 jobs.

The Metro Detroit colocation facility is one of five in Online Tech’s growing portfolio of Midwest data centers. This includes the recently announced Indianapolis data center.
