Michigan Colocation

Michigan Colocation is one of the most boring choices you can make for your production or disaster recovery servers. That's right. Boring.

No earthquakes. No hurricanes. No super twisters.

Trusting your IT infrastructure to anything less than our SAS 70, SSAE 16, and SOC audited data centers in a location historically proven to be safe from natural disasters puts your business at risk unnecessarily. Our Michigan data centers are also PCI, HIPAA and SOX audited to meet national industry compliance requirements.

Our colocation facilities are separated by over 50 miles, and run on separate power grids with different utility providers, but interconnected through Gigabit fiber. All critical equipment is N+1, or fully redundant. Using multiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs), connectivity takes fully redundant paths with automatic failover between providers and circuits should anomalies occur with any Internet connection. Every server is protected by fully redundant Cisco networks with automatic failover.

Completely boring, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you can rest assured your servers will be always on, always secure.

Michigan Colocation Benefits

Michigan Colocation BenefitsLow Risk of Earthquakes

The U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) National Seismic Hazard Mapping project in 2008 shows that Michigan has an extremely low peak ground acceleration (PGA). This means that your servers are safe from earthquakes when colocated in Michigan, and high unlikely to experience downtime from any seismic activity.

Low Risk of Tornadoes and Hurricanes

Servers colocated in Michigan face significantly lower risks of tornados and hurricanes compared to the rest of the U.S. According to the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA), Michigan is among the states with the lowest tornado risk and has never experienced a hurricane.

Natural Cool Climate

Our Michigan data centers run more cost effectively in the state's cool, mild climate. The average outdoor temperature a Michigan data center faces across the year ranges from 25 degrees Fahrenheit to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. This provides free cooling for most of the year. Only four months have temperatures that average over 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

All of our data centers are:

  • SOX Compliant Hosting
  • HIPAA Compliant Hosting
  • PCI Compliant Hosting
